Photograph of women musicians of the traditional court orchestra dressed in Confucian dresses at the Confucian Shrine Munmyo in Seoul, Korea. The women are performing in a Spring rite called Sokchonje to celebrate the birthday of Confucius. The bi-annual religious ceremony is at the Sungkyun-kwan Institute of Confucian Studies aka Sungkyunkwan. The brilliant red costumes are made of silk. Photograph by Nathan Benn taken March 10, 1987.
